Coaching

What’s the difference between coaching and consulting?

A consultant draws from their prior experience to provide solutions and recommendations. A coach partners with clients to help them discover their own best answers, empowering them to create what they need to thrive. Coaching is a collaborative process designed to develop self-awareness and a problem-solving mindset.

There are professionals that advertise themselves as “coaches,” but are not trained in the discipline and ethics of coaching. Be aware whether you want a coach who tells you what they think you should do or who supports you to grow and evolve according to your own uniqueness.

What are the most common reasons to hire a coach?

Change is necessary and natural to experience, but can also be incredibly uncomfortable. Many people seek coaching when they are:

  • Facing a career transition or leadership challenge
  • Struggling with decision-making or confidence
  • Seeking clarity on goals or next steps
  • Wanting to improve communication and relationships
  • Looking for accountability and structured support in making meaningful changes

Is coaching only for people who are struggling?

Not at all! Many of my clients are successful professionals who want to fine-tune their leadership skills, clarify their goals, or navigate new opportunities. Coaching helps when you’re stuck, when you want to level up, or when you simply want support through a transition.

What’s your coaching style?

Clients often tell me that I help them slow down, gain clarity, and feel supported—sometimes before they even realize they need it. My coaching is mindset-focused, meaning I’ll help you define the outcomes you want while also strengthening the mindset that enables sustainable progress. Sessions are structured yet flexible, guided by my approach and adapted to align with your aspirations.

How do I know if coaching is right for me?

It’s completely normal to feel hesitant about starting coaching. Many of my clients are participating in coaching for the first time, and here’s how one reflected after our first session: “I had a great first-ever coaching experience, Stephen. You helped come up with a framework for an important decision in life that we could walk through together during the session. You were well-prepared, supportive, and thorough – just what I needed.”

That’s why I offer a free discovery session—a zero-obligation opportunity to experience coaching firsthand and determine if it’s the right fit for you.
Feel free to book time with me to discuss any second-thoughts you may have about coaching.

What can I expect from a coaching session?

Each session is 60 to 75 minutes, offering a confidential, judgment-free space to explore the topics that matter most to you. We’ll check in on you, discuss any challenges or breakthroughs, and work through insights that move you toward your goals.

How long does coaching last?

The duration depends on your goals. If we both agree that a coaching partnership works, we’ll define the process together. A coaching process is typically between 4 and 12 sessions, but can also be longer. A single speed-coaching session is also possible for quick clarity on specific challenges.

How much does coaching cost?

Coaching is an investment in yourself. The price is part of the agreement that we’ll develop before beginning the coaching journey. Pricing ranges between €/$ 75 and 120 per session, depending on the number of sessions booked and the client’s budget. We’ll partner to define what investment best suits you before we begin.

What’s the difference in how you work with individuals versus teams?

Coaching is a 1:1 process of creating new awarenesses that lead you to your desired results. The topics do not need to be set before the process starts, and the process evolves according to your needs. The process is confidential and tailored according to the agreement created between you and your coach.

As a teamwork facilitator, I also deliver workshops that support teams to create changes to their working environments and group dynamics. The specific topics are chosen collaboratively by the team members and leadership before the process starts, and I guide the group through structured discussions and interactive exercises.

Facilitation & Workshops

What types of workshops do you offer?

My workshops are curated uniquely for the team’s preferences and requirements. We can partner to discuss any challenges you’re experiencing at work and what topics may be appropriate to explore.

Past workshops I’ve facilitated have included topics such as:

  • Business models and proposal writing
  • Creating a culture of celebration and recognition
  • Managing expectations and difficult conversations
  • Active listening and interpersonal communication
  • Embracing feedback and fostering psychological safety
  • Customer experience: Show, don’t tell, that you care
  • Goal-setting and strategic alignment across teams and organizations
  • Strengthening professional relationships for more value in life and work
How do you tailor workshops to our team’s needs?

Each team is different, which is why my workshops are bespoke and interactive.

Here’s what one participant shared: “Stephen really puts work into the preparation of the workshop and really aims to get to know OUR expectations and OUR needs for the Workshop. During the workshop he presented some tools, practiced them with us and always made sure through little practices or games that we stay involved. I had a lot of “aha” moments in my mind & learned a lot for my daily work life and also for me personally.”

After learning about your organization’s unique challenges, I’ll propose relevant themes. We’ll partner to define the agenda, and I’ll design and deliver sessions that are engaging, practical (usually including *practice*), and results-driven.

What’s the ideal group size for a workshop?

I’ve worked with teams as small as 2 people and as large as 30. The format is adapted to the size of the group, to support maximum engagement and meaningful participation for each person.

Do you offer virtual workshops or only in-person sessions?

Both virtual/remote and in-person workshops are possible. Online sessions are designed to be just as engaging and interactive as in-person experiences.

What industries or organizations have you worked with?

My prior full-time working experience was in local and international technology start-ups. I’ve worked across sectors of biotechnology, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, and tourism and in teams of diverse backgrounds (age, culture, professional training, etc.) The benefit of a bespoke workshop design is that it can be adapted to the needs of your group.

How do we know if our team would benefit from facilitation?

Sometimes, it helps to have an outsider. One workshop participant reflected, “Stephen’s calmness doesn’t reflect how good he is creating a safe and fun environment for team building and growth.”

If your team wants to grow through uncertainty together, could communicate better (can’t we all?), or wants to collaborate differently, an external facilitator can help. Unlike internal team members, I bring a neutral, non-biased perspective, creating space for honest discussions and helping your team see new perspectives and develop actionable solutions.

💡 Not sure if facilitation is what your team needs? Let’s have a conversation to discuss your needs, reservations, and possible approaches to make work work for you.
